Three innovative digital approaches to hypertension management move to a prototyping phase in HSMonitor

Following an evaluation of seven highly innovative approaches to hypertension digitally-supported hypertension care for European health systems, HSMonitor’s five procurers selected the three most promising ones, which will proceed to a phase of prototype development, starting on 1 June 2021.

The HSMonitor call-off: moving from seven concepts to three prototypes

Seven innovation concepts were selected to compete in the HSMonitor PCP in March 2021. The concepts are put forward by suppliers – representatives of the health industry in Europe, either as single organisations or project consortia. In the period March-May 2021 the suppliers worked to improve their initial design (phase I) and propose approaches to developing prototypes for their systems (phase II). Between the two phases, a call-off was organised by the HSMonitor procurers.

The HSMonitor call-off is an evaluation process that is used in the PCP process to select the best approaches and offer them a chance to continue the into the next phase of research and development. Following the call-off, the following three approaches were selected:

  • HSmartBPM – An intelligent digital clinical pathway towards the proactive management and smart monitoring of hypertension (implemented by a consortium led by Gnomon Informatics, Greece)
  • HyperHealth – A new ICT solution aimed to provide a proactive, integrated, personalised hypertension prevention and management (implemented by a consortium led by Tech4Care, Italy)
  • SmartHT – An end-to-end smart hypertension management solution (implemented by a consortium led by Innova, Turkey)
