Who we are

MINISTRY OF HEALTH, TURKEY

   

Ministry of Health of Turkey (MOH) is the main government body responsible for health sector policy making, implementation of national health strategies through programs and direct provision of health services. MOH is the major provider of primary, secondary and tertiary health care services in Turkey. It is essentially the only provider of preventive health services through an extensive network of health facilities (Public Health Centers). The semi-autonomous Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency also functions under MOH.

General Directorate of Health Information Systems (GDHIS), which will lead the research and development activities of HSMonitor project, is responsible for country-wide policies, strategies and standards for information systems and communication technologies in healthcare services, information systems and projects for personal health records. It is the host of the national health information system of Turkey.

MOH is a highly-esteemed and authoritative organisation in Turkey, whose policies and missions will be welcomed by formal and informal caregivers, which will greatly contribute to the use and acceptance of HSMonitor.

UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL FEDERICO II, ITALY

Federico II University Hospital (FOUND), based in Southern Italy, hosts over 50 Specialist Courses and master Degrees of Federico II University Medical School. It provides in-hospital admittance, day-hospitals, day-services and outpatient activities. FOUND takes part to the regional and national health care programs. Thanks to the presence of so many sectors, and to the coexistence of teaching, research and health care the hospital provides many opportunities to develop interdisciplinary activities.

REGION JAMTLAND HARJEDALEN, SWEDEN

Region Jamtland Harjedalen (RJH’s) legal status is County Council with responsibility for primary and secondary healthcare as well as regional development in a region of about 130,000 inhabitants. The R&D unit has a Project Office that develops and oversees larger external projects and functions as a resource to internal and external project partners. The Project Office also acts as a networking resource. Since R&D also oversees education, including parts of the training for all medical personnel, there is an organisational connection as to the involvement of medical personnel in the projects. Research is undertaken within a wide-range in RJH, e.g. how best to promote high quality secondary prevention in cardiology and a world leading research on app treatment in urinary incontinence.

RJH has a well-established common EHR (e-prescriptions included) for all primary and secondary care. The R&D unit is responsible for knowledge production and the infrastructure of research and mHealth/eHealth development. To this organisation researchers, working with different research methodologies and research statisticians are familiar with different methodologies both qualitative and quantitative.

HEALTH CENTER ZAGREB — CENTAR, CROATIA

Dom zdravlja Zagreb – Centar (DZZC) is the largest provider of primary health care services in the Republic of Croatia. DZZC is a publicly funded institution that provides accessible, complete and integrated health care to the population of Zagreb. In DZZC 104 GP and 66 specialist teams provide healthcare services to 380.000 citizens. DZZC also provides radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, field nursing, palliative care and dental care services, as well as nutrition and pharmacotherapy counselling. City of Zagreb is founder and owner of DZZC.

DZZC works with regional universities and institutes in education, research and development, and improvement of health services, including eHealth and mHealth. DZZC is the leading partner in the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Health Ageing (EIP on AHA) City of Zagreb Reference Site. DZZC is part of the EU mHealth Hub consortium, a Horizon 2020 funded initiative initiated by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

REGION LOMBARDIA, ITALY

Within Regione Lombardia structure, the Directorate General Welfare is responsible to govern the Lombardy Social Health System and ensure that Lombardy 10 million citizens are provided with effective, efficient and appropriate health- and social care as well as health services in general.

The guiding principles of the Lombardy welfare system are the centrality of the person and the freedom of choice. The "Regional Prevention Plan (PRP) 2014-2018" was approved by the Regional Council, and identifies 10 macro objectives of high strategic value, which can be pursued through the development of integrated and transversal regional actions. One focal program is designed specifically to prevent chronicity (targeting the ageing population at risk of cognitive impairment).

TICBIOMED, SPAIN

        

TICBioMed (TBM) is a cooperative cluster of ICT companies, Universities, Healthcare providers, and Public Institutions that work together to promote eHealth innovation in the Region of Murcia (Spain). It counts currently more than 60 members at national level gathering Healthcare, ICT organisations and other stakeholders.

In 2010 the association was awarded with the ´Excellence label´ for its strategic plan and since, joined the national database of excellent Innovative Enterprise Associations. It also holds a ´Gold label´ from the European cluster management excellence programme.

As part of its core expertise, the association has also specialised in the identification of unmet needs and challenges in Health that can be solved with the use of ICT in order to spot areas of opportunity for the development of profitable eHealth innovation, following a methodological approach when interacting with potential customers and end-users (healthcare managers, professionals, patients, etc.). TICBioMed also makes a strong emphasis on Business Modelling, in order to realistically address market opportunities in the eHealth space.
